Summer Lyric Theatre at Tulane University will hold auditions on Friday, February 12th and Saturday, February 13th for its 49th season of productions: Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Big River.

Friday, February 12
6:00 p.m. - AEA & EMC Auditions

Saturday, February 13
9:00 a.m. - Youth (Ages 8-16) Vocal & Movement Auditions
12:00 p.m. - Adult (Ages 17 & up) Movement Call
2:30 p.m. - AEA & General Vocal Auditions

Sunday, February 14
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Call Backs as needed

General Audition Notes
All three shows this season are very different and we are looking for a wide range of talent and types. Performers of diverse ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Please bring a current headshot or photograph and a resume to auditions. See below for specific audition instructions for adult and youth performers.

Auditions for Adult Performers Ages 17 and Up

Vocal Auditions
Please bring sheet music in the proper key. Music should be in a book or
3-ring binder. Cuts should be clearly marked. An accompanist will be provided. Prepare two contrasting songs, 16-32 bars. Songs should show vocal range, acting ability and should be in the style of shows in our season. You may be asked to sing only one song.

Dance Auditions
You should wear clothes that you can comfortably move in. Women are encouraged to wear character shoes and men in jazz shoes. If you do not own the proper footwear, tennis shoes will do.

Tap Dancers: If you are an adult tap dancer, please bring your tap shoes.
There will be a short combination for Millie.

Registration & Location
To schedule an adult vocal audition, please call (504) 865-5271 between the hours of 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. M-F. Performers should arrive at Dixon Hall 30 minutes prior to call time.

Auditions for Youth Performers Ages 8- 16

Vocal & Movement Auditions
Please bring sheet music in the proper key. Music should be in a book or 3-ring binder. cuts should be clearly marked. An accompanist will be provided.

Prepare one song, 16-32 bars. Song should show your vocal range and personality. All performers 16 and under will learn and perform a short bit of choreography so wear comfortable clothes. Vocal and movement auditions will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Registration & Location
Youth performers should arrive at Dixon Hall between 8:30- 8:45 a.m.

Out-Of-Town Auditioners
We have a few spots each season for principal and specialty performers from out-of-the-area. To submit an audition video, please email mmckelve@tulane.edu for more information.

Rehearsal & Performance Dates
* Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat rehearsals begin May 25 and runs June 16-19.
* Thoroughly Modern Millie rehearsals begin June 20 and runs July 7-10.* *Big River rehearsals begin July 11 and runs July 28-31.
